But, let me give you some words of advice first: EXPECT TO GET REJECTED!
I had to go through one agency after another telling me NO, before a found the ones that said YES! You too will have to do this with each one you contact. Some of them will say no and some will say yes.
Just know that if you keep trying you will find the one that will say yes!

Questions, answers and tips about modeling agency ‘s
Q: If I join a modeling agency, do I have to pay for my portfolio (pictures)?
A: Generally, you will have to pay for your pictures. Ie: Photographer and reprints.
Q: Will the modeling agency set me up with the photographer or do I have to find one?
A: The agency you go with will set up your test shoot for you, with the photographer of there choice.
Q: How much does a test shoot cost?
A: A test shoot will usually cost $150.00 to $300.00. I wouldn’t pay more than that unless the photographer shoots for GUCCI!
Q: Will my modeling agency pay for me to travel?
A: Yes and know… If they say that they will pay for your ticket to say… Italy then what they are actually doing is lending you money because you WILL have to pay them back. So if your plane ticket cost $3000.00 and you make $3500.00 on your first job, then $3000.00 will automatically be deducted to pay them back.
Q: How much commission percentage does an agency take from there models?
A: A modeling agency will usually take 20% of everything you make, so if you get a job for $4000.00, they will take $800.00 of that.
Q: What if I have a mother model agency?
A: If you have a mother model agency, then the agency that got you your job will take its 20% ($800.00). Then they will give 20% ($160.00) of that to your mother agency. So you only lose once.
Q: What is a mother model agency?
A: A mother agency is usually the first modeling agency, that signs you. They will get you to sign a contract that will say they are your mother agency. This means that they are in charge of where you go, and they will always get a cut of whatever you make.
